Job Title: Customer Service Associate
Job Summary:
Who’s ready for a spectacular summer? We are seeking friendly, outdoor enthusiasts to join our team at KT Kayak. As a Customer Service Associate,, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and memorable experience for our customers. This is a seasonal, part-time position that requires working weekends and holidays.
Training will begin mid to late June. Work will end on Labor Day.
Hours: Mostly weekends, with occasional week days. Mornings, afternoons and evenings (on weekends only). Part time.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers, answer questions, and provide information about rentals, pricing, and services.
- Assist customers with watercraft selection, fitting, and launching.
- Inspect kayaks and equipment for damage or wear and tear, and perform basic maintenance tasks.
- Provide instruction and guidance on kayaking techniques, safety procedures, and local waterway regulations.
- Monitor weather conditions and water levels, and advise customers of any potential hazards.
- Handle customer payments, process rentals, and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain a clean and organized facility, including the kayak storage area, rental desk, and surrounding grounds.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service.
- Participate in special events, races, and other company activities.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 14 years old.
-Must be able to work at least one of the holidays during the summer.
- Previous experience in customer service, outdoor recreation, or a related field (Preferred)
- Knowledge of kayaking techniques, safety procedures, and local waterway regulations (Preferred)
- Ability to lift and carry or pull kayaks and equipment (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment with varying weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed primarily outdoors, in varying weather conditions.
- Fairly relaxed beach atmosphere that may become hot and buggy at times.
- May be required to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak season.
