frequently asked questions
Do I have to bring my own life jacket?
No! Life jackets and paddles are included in the rates for all lakes!
Do I have to make a reservation?
No, not for Pike Lake! Walk-in hours are 10:00 -5:00 Mon - Fri and Sat/Sun 9:00-5:00. However, we do recommend reserving for weekends.
Friess and Bark Lakes must be reserved in advance.
Can dogs go in the kayaks too?
Yes! Dogs are allowed to tag along! Just be aware that there is not a lot of space in a kayak as there is in a boat or canoe. Large dogs may not fit, but smaller dogs will be just fine!
Will someone be there at the lake when I get there?
Yes! Someone is staffing Pike Lake during walk-in hours. If you reserve outside that time frame or if you reserve for Friess or Bark Lake, someone will meet you there. You will need to sign waivers and you will be given all your necessary equipment.
Do you have life jackets for small children?
Yes! We have life jackets that fit toddlers, but not infants. We would not recommend bringing your infant on a kayak.
Can I take my small child in a single kayak with me?
Yes! As long as the weight of both of you is 275lbs or under! Keep in mind that if the child is over 5 years old and/or is bigger and able to paddle, we recommend a tandem kayak instead.
